Hvar Private Tuk Tuk Tour

The most authentic way to explore Hvar Island would be to hop on a donkey or a mule which would be fun, but it would also be slow and not so nice for the animals.

We wanted to give people a similar sensation of exploring the island freely without putting weight on anyone’s shoulders.

So we became the first and only travel agency on Hvar with a Tuk-Tuk, although this vehicle surely doesn’t have the warmth of a donkey’s eyes, it has nice comfortable seats that let you hold hands with your partner while climbing from your hotel to the first stop – a monument from the 16th century, Hvar Fortress Španjola.

There we’ll pause so you and the guide can feast your eyes on Hvar’s red roofs, white streets, blue sea, and the green Pakleni Islands in front. Yes… All of our guides have seen that view many times. Yes… It’s still mesmerizing. 

Once the view from Španjola satisfies your need for the art of nature, we’ll take the old road all the way to your next stop in Brusje village. From this viewpoint, you’ll get to see the Pakleni Islands from a different angle and you’ll even get a chance to see through the Stari Grad Plain all the way to Jelsa.

But you’ll have a chance to admire more than nature, you’ll have the chance to admire our people and our will to survive.

All the stone walls you’ll see were built to clean the soil from the rocks and to create barriers that would protect soil and plants from harsh winds and erosion. Every stone there, millions of them, have crossed at least one pair of blistered islanders’ hands.

We have so much to be grateful for to our ancestors… They’ve turned an island where most wouldn’t be able to survive into a destination most have on their traveling list.

And they did that partially thanks to a plant that’s now one of Hvar’s most famous symbols – lavender. You’ll be holding hands while a warm breeze tickles your nose with the aroma of the Mediterranean summer on the way to Velo Grablje, the village of lavender.

South of it, down the old road we’ll make our fourth and final stop in Malo Grablje before heading back to Hvar Town.

Malo Grablje, an abandoned village, forgotten by the most where finding Sleeping Beauty in her magical slumber wouldn’t be out of place. We’ll stop to take in the beauty, take photos, and if you’re lucky, watch birds of prey fly out of their nests high in cliffs hugging this orphaned village.

Once you’re ready to hop back in the Tuk Tuk, the road will take you through the old olive groves until it connects to the new road above Milna. From there, our three-wheeled pet will take you back to Hvar Town where this unique tour ends.

The ride on the main road will be a bit faster but still slow enough so you don’t miss a single drop of Croatia’s beauty.

Even though you can’t pet the Tuk Tuk or feed it apples at the end of the ride, you’ll probably still want to take a photo at the end of this experience. That way you can remember the day you explored Hvar in a way reserved only for those who like laid back experiences, but still can’t silence their adventurous spirits.
